No: Pinkeye doesn't make your face break out. It is possible though that the same virus is causing both problems, the pinkeye and the rash. It is also possible that these are two separate problems.

Perhaps.: Pinkeye can be viral, bacterial or allergic. Viral or bacterial causes can be spread by the child wiping his eyes to clear the matter or to rub an itch--either way, this could smear the offending agent onto the skin of the face triggering it to break out. I always worry about impetigo coming from the nose spreading onto the face as well. Many toddlers with pinkeye also have ear infection. Call md.

Fifths disease?: Pinkeye would not cause your child's face to break out. If your child's face looks like someone slapped him, he may be developing erythema infectiousum or fifths disease, a harmless virus. Check his arms and legs to see if the rash has affected them.
