Singles: Single relates to having being exposed to varicella virus previously. Because you are still early before 7 days, you should be on an antiviral medication per your md. Washing your hair is fine and should not affect the condition one way or the other. Go head wash your hair and keep area clean to prevent secondary bacterial infections. Any shampoo is fine.

Shingles: It is alright to shampoo your hair. Would work in shampoo gently so as not to pop blisters. Gentle shampoo is fine. Would recommend warm water rather than really hot water. If you towel dry - dab gently vice apply vigorous pressure.
