Variable: A pregnancy test can remain positive for up to six weeks even after a completed miscarriage. It depends upon how far along the pregnancy was and the level of HCG (the pregnancy hormone that produces a positive pregnancy test) in the blood. Ectopic pregnancy HCG levels do not continue to fall week to week so if worried, women may want to consider a weekly level of hcg.
