No, unless..: You may be feeling little sports of psoriasis on your scalp. Use a shampoo with zinc pyrithione, tar, and/or selenium. Shapoos with salicyclic acid break down scakes, which helps. But does not prevent dandruff!

Sebum makes its way to the skin's surface through pores, and excess oil, dead skin cells or other substances can clog them. Bacteria multiply in the trapped sebum, forming a pre-pimple, or a microcomedone. Antibiotics are treatment of choice.
