Med check: Make sure your doctor does a medication cross check. There may be online services for you to do this yourself. List all medicines you take, including otc drugs, herbs & supplements. Planning a pregnancy is important when you have diabetes because uncontrolled sugar, obesity, many meds, and blood pressure issues can increase pregnancy complications.

Yes: Being a type 2 diabetic is not a contraindication for contraceptives. Millions of type 2 diabetics are on birth controls. Some contraindications are: history of breast cancer, history of blood clots, heavy smokers...It's best to ask your own doctor if you are a candidate.
