Bad combination!: If you are taking metronidazole, you are absolutely not supposed to have any alcohol for at least 48 hours after your last Metronidazole dose. If you drink alcohol with the Metronidazole on board, you can expect symptoms of possible nausea, vomiting, flushing of the skin, tachycardia (accelerated heart rate), and shortness of breath. It's actually similar drinking while taking antabuse (disulfiram). Very bad.

I would not advise : Consuming ethanol (alcohol) while taking Metronidazole has long been thought to have a disulfiram-like reaction with effects that can include nausea, vomiting, flushing of the skin, tachycardia (accelerated heart rate), and shortness of breath.
