Liver Testing: It sounds like your liver is inflamed and something is happening that makes the liver not very healthy. The most common reasons for this problem can be infection with hepatitis, or over use of some medications. It can be caused by too much tylenol (acetaminophen) or acetominophen. And, it can be caused by too much alcohol. The cause of the inflammation must be determined and stopped in order for liver healing.

I agree however: I agree with the other answer, however you should see a liver specialist to run some other lab tests to determine the cause. Your bilirubin level is important. If you have any confusion or notice easy busing or bleeding, you should go to the emergency room immediately as you could have liver failure from many causes. Alcohol can play a role, but usually when SGPT >500 there is something else.
