Anklylosing spondyl: Ankylosing spondylitis (as) is a fairly uncommon condition occuring in men 3 times as often as in women, and only about 1/400 total population. Needing an injection in your sacroiliac joint at age 35 is also quite uncommon. I think it would be reasonable to draw the blood tests for as (hlab27), combined with CRP or ESR for inflammation and an x-ray.
