Not unusual: It is common for the sclera, or the white of the eye, to have pigmentation. Sometimes there are yellowish patches called pingueculae as well. If there is a new pigmentation or a substantial change in pigmentation of the sclera, this should be checked by an ophthalmologist. There is no good treatment to alter the pigmentation of the conjunctiva or sclera.
