Soft lenses: Sometimes the cornea has a significant scar after pterygium excision. The irregularity might make contact lens use difficult, but soft lenses would be a better choice for this. If the scar is unsightly, then a lens that changes or modifies eye color (cosmetic) could hide the scar. If there is significant astigmatism, toric astigmatism correcting soft lenses could also be used.

A well fitted one: Most lenses can be fit over a pterygium scar. If the scar left a irregularity or astigmatism a toric or gas permeable lens may be best. Find someone in your community with excellent contact lense fitting skills is the best answer.
