Painful pooping?: Back pain when using the bathroom may possibly indicate a derangement of your disc. The act of 'bearing down' while defecating can increase the intradiscal pressure between spinal segments. Since the outer covering of the discs (annulus) contain nociceptive pain fibers, this can result in pain from a torn annulus when performing this so-called valsalva maneuver. Good luck and be careful!
