Sigmoid colon prob?: It is possible that you are feeling some contractions or spasm of the sigmoid colon, which is the last portion of the colon leading to the rectum, and this is located in the left lower quadrant and near the left lower back. If it happens only occasionally, may not be serious. But if starts to happen consistently or becomes severe, definitely have it evaluated.
