Depends: Open or laparoscopic surgery? Gas from laparoscopic surgery, even though it is removed, leaves a full bloated feeling & resolves in a few days. If open surgery then eat small light foods, more liquids than sold foods, minimize narcotic pain medications, take a mild laxative if constipated. Walk around more. Try warm heat on the abdomen.
