Yes but no: You can treat the symptoms of the infection with an antibiotic, but it will not treat the bacteria causing the problem. You need to address the bacteria with an antimicrobial so you don't develop resistant bacteria. Look into the perio protect method. We have found it works best and research has shown it is better than conventional scaling and root planing.
