Probably a virus.: Virus infection, usually herpes virus can cause blistering in the mouth that can evolve to mouth ulcers. With a bad episode, lymph nodes in the neck will enlarge. Mouth ulcers can also occur as a reaction to medication, or as a manifestation of autoimmune disease. If they persist, or interfere with eating, see a doctor for help.
