For most people safe: Amlodipine is used for hypertension treatment. It dilates blood vessels by reducing smooth muscle tone, lowering blood pressure. It is safe unless you are pregnant, have aortic stenosis, or unstable angina, or are in heart failure or shock. If you have lymphedema, talk to your doctor first before starting since it can make this worse. If you have an allergy to norvasc, (amlodipine) obviously don't take it.
