Is 100mg of diphenhydramime safe?

Why would you: Diphenhydramine (benadryl) is used both to block histamine mediated allergic reactions and as a minor sleep aid. Both of these effects reach their maximum at 25 to 50mg in an adult. Taking more does not enhance these desired effects. This is a complex molecule that affects other body systems as well. At higher doses it acts as a toxin that affects the brain and other systems in an unpleasant way.
