Carpal tunnel : Pressure on a nerve can cause numbness in the fingers. The index finger often is involved in carpal tunnel syndrome, a nerve compression in the wrist. Other nerve compressions need to be ruled out. At your age, vascular disease is less likely, unless you have a nedical condition predisposing.
