It depends: How severe the plantar fascia rupture is will dictate what treatment might be necessary. In smaller tears, rest, ice, elevation, oral antiinflammatories can be enough. The pain and disability can be severe, and might require a period of nonweightbearing using crutches or a cam walker. Talk to your doctor as to what course is best for you. Good luck.
