Does the menstrual cycle changes when switching contraceptives?

Maybe: It will depend on what method you have been using and you are changing to. You may notice spotting or breakthrough bleeding. Talk to your doctor about your situation and they can let you know what you can expect.

It can.: Birth control pills generally are designed to allow a period every 28 days. When there is spotting or unscheduled bleeding your doctor may change to a new formulation to stop it. Some pills are designed for a period every 3 months, and some people will skip their periods or have very light bleeding or spotting on some oral contraceptives.
