Several types : There are several types of pulmonary hypertension and to some extent there is a difference in the likelihood of medication success between types. When a clotting problem is related then blood thinners can help. When left heart or congenital heart disease is the cause there are other treatments. For primary pulmonary hypertension there are other classes of drugs. The type suggests the medicine.
