is it safe to wash my face (to help treat acne) with aloe vera gel that contains 0.50% lidocaine?

Yes: Why not do something for your acne that actually works? Topical benzoyl peroxide's the only over-the-counter that will touch it. A physician can add topical Clindamycin or a retinoic acid derivative. If this isn't successful, a systemic antibiotic or something stronger from a dermatologist. This is the 21st century -- all acne's manageable.
