A member asked:

I have got a sore knee, sore to touch and swollen?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Injury/infection: If the knee is red, warm, and tender to the touch, an infection is high on the list of potential causes. Therefore, you should seek an orthopedic surgeon's evaluation. If you injured your knee, by twisting, hitting, or some other method, then it may not be as critical to see a physician. Ice, wrap, and anti-inflammatory agents may work. Probably best to break down and see a physician.
