Xray to assess fx: Depending upon the degree of trauma and force imparted upon the patella (kneecap) determiness the risk for fracture. Bony tenderness to palpation would indicate a need for X-rays. Seek evaluation by an orthopaedic surgeon for persistent symptoms.
