5 hrs sleep= easy to wake but not refreshed. 7+= headaches, oversleeping, coma like. worse with trileptal (for bipolar). blood sugar crashing @ night?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Blood sugar: Possible. One quick way to tell - don't eat any refined carbs (bread, regular potatoes, etc.) for dinner. At bedtime, have a snack of some celery and peanut butter. The peanut butter "burns slowly" in your body. If you feel better in the A.M. - that was it! you should also have a fasting Insulin checked in the A.M. To see if you are "hyperinsulinemic." that could mimic what you describe.
