In the US: The chances of getting any cancer, according to statistics of the american cancer society, is 45% in a lifetime for males & 38% in a lifetime for females in the us. You are not destined to get cancer because it runs in your parents, but get regular screening physical exams yearly, mammograms after age 40 females, colonoscooy after age 50. Eat healthy, don't smoke, exercise, maintain healthy weight.
