2 separate issues: Neither pneumonia nor bronchitis would cause a "lump" on the outer chest wall. Coughing and trouble breathing can be related to asthma. Coughing up thick, pus mucus with associated fever and chills suggests pneumonia. Bronchitis is an infection in the large bronchi. A chest x-ray would help differentiate some of these conditions. A physical exam is necessary to assess the "lump.".
