Hernia: I would advocate having one procedure done at a time as these are completely separate issues.

No: The best way to lose weight is to eat less and exercise more. Further, even for open inguinal hernia repair, the incision size is small compared to that of a panniculectomy. It depends of course how important the two issues are for you as an individual.
