Is senokot (senna) safe for pregnancy? if not what are my alternatives?

OK but not frequent: Senekot used occasionally is safe - if used frequently it can damage the bowel. It is recommended to increase fiber and fluids in your diet, use stoll softeners (ducosate sodium) and take a gentle laxative like MiraLAX (polyethylene glycol) when needed. As dr. Shim indicated mom is safe and effective as well.
