No: Topical steroids tend not to be absorbed in sufficient quantity to trigger weight gain. Sometimes, a small reaction does occur to very strong steroid creams, especially if the cream is applied with a bandage or other covering. But usually we don't' have any weight problems with those medicines.

It would be unusual.: It would be unusual for topical corticosteroids to cause weight fluctuations. Although there are many strengths of topical steroids, unless you were to use an unusual amount these steroids it would be unlikely to cause any weight changes. Oral corticosteroids can cause weight gain if taken for a significant period of time. With short term steroid use, there are usually minimal side effects.
