I have severe ibs. took bentyl (dicyclomine) 4 a few years but it cause severe memory loss. is there another medication that works as well with out memory loss?

Yes: There's Levsin (hyoscyamine) as a popular option. And although there's no data to support it, i've had good success using Celexa to calm the symptoms down, sometimes quite dramatically.

Try avoiding foods: Most people with IBS are dealing with serious food intolerance. I would recommend an elimination diet -remove dairy, all grains, soy, and sugar and if in 2 wks you are feeling better best to continue to avoid, can do a food challenge to see if all are problems -but they all very well may be
