Sedating medicine: Chloral hydrate is a sedating medication, usually taken when someone wants to go to sleep. It comes in a capsule, a liquid, and a rectal suppository. There is no directly corresponding herbal medicine for this, but some like valerian and kava kava are sedating. If considering using these, please discuss with your doctor first.
