Yes - avoid it!: There are no adequate reports or well-controlled studies in human fetuses. Chronic use during pregnancy may result in neonatal withdrawal, suggesting placental transfer. Rodent teratogenicity studies have apparently not been performed. Equine studies suggest a higher frequency of miscarriage after chloral hydrate.
