Back?: The nerves that provide the movement function of your legs come from your spinal cord. The exact location of where these various nerves exits the spinal cord as it begins to travel down your leg, could be where the problem lies. Having your lower back assessed may help narrow this down. Once identified, sometimes physical therapy can help alleviate the issue, other times surgery may be needed.

Surgery?: If you indeed have a pinched nerve that has affected a specific nerve you should consider a surgical procedure to relieve the pressure unless there are other comorbidities that make the risk/benefit too high.
