Many upper : Respiratory infections (viral or bacterial) can cause swollen glands & possibly vomiting. What test was used for mono? Monospot or a blood test; former often false negative; blood test more reliable. Treat symptoms: sips of fluid for hydration; otc emetrol may help settle stomach as might pepto-bismol (depending on child's age); tylenol (acetaminophen) for fever & pain.
