It's been 4 days that i have diarrhea. i've been taking imodium (loperamide). i'm drinking water and eating banana, rice and toast. what else should i do?

See below: Do you have fever, blood or pus in your stools, abdominal pain? Have you been on antibiotics in the last 3 months? Have you had foreign travel? If so, stop the immodium and get checked out by your doctor.

Next: If bowel stable off imodium, (loperamide) slowly advance diet : canned fruit juices, dry cereal, potatoes, oatmeal, plain noodles & then on to simple proteins such as eggs, low fat yogurt, steamed or baked chicken without the skin or fat. Avoid fatty foods, those w/ artificial sweeteners can have laxative effect, high fiber vegetables: onions, cauliflower, lettuce, etc & some dairy: ice cream, butter, milk.
