Told 20/50 vision w/astigmatism n both eyes. best way to fix? would vit. with lutien help?

NO: No, lutien would not help, it is a supplement show to slow the deterioration of the retina in people with macular degeneration. Astigmatism can be corrected with glasses, contacts or surgery. There is no need to fix or correct for the astigmatism unless it affects your vision during daily activities or is causing headaches. I most likely has been present all of your life.

No: Astigmatism is due to irregular curvature in the cornea. The cornea focuses light onto the retina. Lutein is an antioxidant carotenoid that makes up some of the pigments in the retina, specifically the macula, the center-the part of the eye that senses light. Lutein supplements can reduce the risk of some age related retinal problems but have no effect on astigmatism or the health of the cornea.
