Not directly: Maybe not directly, but stress can provoke several behaviors that may collectively send you on the road to Insulin resistance and weight gain -- towards diabetes. You can eat too many processed foods that are high in sugars and hydrogenated fats, leading to inflammation and weight gain. Stress can also lead to sleep disturbance, which can in turn lead to weight gain and Insulin resistance.
