Olecranon bursitis: Compress it with an ace wrap and elevate the arm. You can also ice it regularly, and take anti-inflammatory medications like ibuprofen. If that isn't effective your physician can aspirate the fluid under sterile conditions.

RICE: As long as it's not terribly painful, warm & red, you can try conservative measures such as rest, ice, compression & elevation. Stop putting pressure on elbow, protect it w/elbow pad, maybe consider an otc anti-inflammatory (if you don't have reason to avoid). Check out http://orthoinfo.Aaos.Org/topic.Cfm?Topic=a00028 for more info. But definitely discuss w/your doc as i'm just making wild guess.

Let me help: I do believe you have bursitis of the elbow. Rest the elbow as much as possible. Deflate the inflammation. Take two regular-strength Aspirin or Ibuprofen four times a day to reduce the swelling (if you could take them). Warm it up with mosit heat. Do mild stretching excercise. Take curcumin, is a very effective anti-inflammatory.
