Exercise helps: As you recuperate, it's good to get mild exercise but, you need to prepare. Dress in layers and bring water. Don't be too ambitious on your first walk; keep it to <10 mins. When you return home, bathe and dress in fresh clothing then take in a balanced meal and more water. Remember, it wasn't being out in the cold that for you sick; it was exposure to a virus so wash your hands often.
