See gynecologist: Having heavy bleeding is a reasonable reason for considering a hysterectomy to resolve it. However the next step is to see your gynecologist to help determine what the cause of your bleeding is, discuss and perhaps try options (since sometimes there is something easy to try that's effective) and review your risks and benefits from surgery to make sure surgery is right for you.
