Only occasionally: Some people have bleeding around the time of the missed period, called implantation bleeding, that occurs as the embryo is growing into the wall of the uterus. This is usually spotting or light bleeding, so usually is different from a usual period. But occasionally it is similar and so is confusing. But the next month there is no period.
