Work Therapy: You are too much concentrating on yourself. Get out among people and go to work. The more you spend time at working, the more you will get your mind off of yourself. If you cannot find a job, then work at anything where you have to concentrate on what you are doing like cutting logs, farming, intense gardening, working with your hands involved. The more you think on the work is better.

Seek treatment: Your suicidal preoccupation concerns me. It was right that the suicidal helpline gave your counselor your info. S/he should have heard it from you directly. Make sure you are talking to your treaters directly about the depth of your depression, and consider seeing a psychiatrist or psychiatric nurse practitioner for medication if you're not already on some.
