Never stop abruptly: Avinza is controlled release morphine. This is potent narcotic. Never stop abruptly. If you do, serious withdrawal symptoms will arise. These usually appear within 48 hrs. Go to your nearest emergency room or call 911 for help if you have run out of medication.
