Osteitis pubis: Osteitis pubis is a central ache directly over the junction of the pubic bones. It can be very difficult to distinguish this from a groin pull as the groin muscles attach on the pubic bone. Stress fractures can also mimic osteitis pubis. These are seen more commonly in runners. Diagnostic injection into the region may help. Mri is also very sensitive in helping determine the source of pain.
