Type of biopsy?: Is this a core needle biopsy or a surgical biopsy. If it is a core needle biopsy, the procedure should not last long. With an experienced surgeon or radiologist, the procedure should last 10-20 minutes, on average. I recommend speaking with the physician performing your biopsy about your medical problems so they can appropriately position you on the table.

Discuss with docs: Most breast biopsies don't consume much time, so i'm not clear what is wrong with your upper spine (at c1) to worry you. You should discuss this with your surgeon and, if you are having a separate anesthesiologist, that person as well. They can alter your position, pad the table, etc to assure that you don't suffer any additional problems.
