Normal variation: Periods do vary in their extent of bleeding and associated symptoms. If it is a one time occurance, do not be concerned. If your periods become heavy regularly, see your doctor to make sure that you do not become anemic. Iron supplementation may be needed to counteract the effects of heavy bleeding.
