Obviously not: You need to see a doctor asap. Do not know why you were given Prednisone or what else is going on, but you sound quite ill. Get to adequate medical care immediately. Might try an er, since you may need hospitalization.

No: If really pneumonia it would not be treated with just prednisone. There are inflammatory conditions of the lung that behave like pneumonia and might be treated with Prednisone alone. In any case if getting worse either way someone should contact their doctor right away, and if very short of breath may even need to go to the emergency room.
