Maybe, Maybe Not: While what you have mentioned above may be true, there are therapies that enable men to increase their testosterone levels and sperm count. If you friend want to have more children, i suggest he see an infertility specialist if you friend want his low testosterone level checked/treated and he does not want any more children, then he should see a doctor who is familiar with hypogonadism.

No.: Taking testosterone will lower his chance of conceiving a child. He needs an evaluation of current sperm count, and rechecking testosterone in conjunction w/ pituitary hormone levels to find the cause of his low testosterone and determine whether or not he is currently fertile first, then consider treatment options second.

Low T =/ Infertility: I agree w/dr. Wingo. It's important to find out cause before considering treatment. Low t can be due to testicular vs pituitary problem. If caused by testicular condition, will be difficult to father regardless of how low t is treated. If low t is caused by pituitary condition, treatment of pituitary condition may solve low t & infertility. However, if testosterone is used, will decrease fertility.
