Yes: There is an accompanying editorial by dr. Steve nissan (chief of cardiology @ cleveland clinic) with the original article which was reported in the annals of internal medicine. An earlier study showed reduced risk. Both were retrospective studies. The issue is unsettled and must await a prospective trial - it may be yrs away. Use the AndroGel only if you feel much better with it! there may b risk.

Androgel: You don't get heart attacks directly from androgel. You get them from having cholesterol plaques or diabetic changes in blood vessels of your heart (coronaries). If you have strong family history, sedentary lifestyle (no exercise), smoking history, elevated cholesterol etc, you'd be better off checking with your doctor to ensure what's your risk of heart attacks before starting androgel.
